The mission of the Institute for the Study of Children, Families and Social Issues is, just as its name implies, to investigate children, families and contemporary social issues. The Institute is committed to undertaking both basic and applied research related to the development, functioning, and well being of children and families and to addressing pressing social issues. The Institute does not provide any clinical training nor treatment services of any kind, though it is involved, via its affiliation with the School of Psychology, Birkbeck University of London, with supervising post-graduates pursuing Master's and Doctoral degrees.
