Group-based Family Nurse Partnership (gFNP) formative evaluations

There are mothers-to-be who might benefit from early support but who are not eligible for the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) programme. A small number of pilot sites in England already providing FNP are also providing group-based care based on the FNP programme, starting in pregnancy and continuing until infants are 12 months. The formative evaluation studies, directed by Professor Jacqueline Barnes, used qualitative interviews with nurses, other professionals and clients in addition to structured data collected as part of the programme to determine its feasibility, acceptability, how effectively it can be delivered and implications for a wider roll-out.
